History of The Hallelujah Womens Ministries
Robert and Ruby Gittens were saved Dec. 13,1964 at Revival Tabernacle in St. Louis, MO. At Revival Tabernacle A/G 3122 Sutton Ave. St. Louis, MO. Rev A.L. and Mrs. Burnett were their Pastors.
January 1971 God’s Holy Spirit moved upon the Gittens heart to move to NC. and start a church in Gaston County, as they were called of God to minister. June 1971 Pastor Gittens and family moved to Charlotte, NC. They held services in the home of Paul and Frances Chaples (First Charter Members and sister and brother-in-law). After the 2nd Sunday God spoke to Pastors heart and said “Next Sunday you will have a church.” Just like God said, It was the “Old Presbyterian Church in Stanley, NC.” August 1971 Sister Gittens brother (George Alvis) donated money to purchase the first VW van, then she started the bus ministry. Also, the first baptizing was held in Mt. Holly Catawba river.
January 1972 agreement was made to purchase the Church building. The Pastor was ordained according to the laws of NC. And of Revival Tabernacle Church. Shortly after moving into the Church, Hallelujah Women’s Mini-Bible College Course (Home Bible Study) was started with Ruby Gittens, Director. Linda Nixon, Assistant Director.
In 1987 sister Ruby A. Gittens ordained with Revival Tabernacle, also with Assembly of God International Fellowship.
Hallelujah Women with missions to India was started led by Rev. Ruby Gittens, and Helpers: Wanda Stephens, Evelyn Polson, Linda Nixon, Marie Starling Eva B Cooper, June Dawson, Lynn Mayberry, Veda Franklin, and Angie Franklin.
